Casual Indigenous Trainers and Assessors

The Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre (AILC) specialises in accredited and non-accredited Indigenous Leadership, Governance and Mentoring training around Australia from remote communities to regional locations.

About the role

These positions are for Indigenous persons based anywhere across Australia.  

The right person for these important roles will have experience as a trainer and/or assessor.  You will be capable of facilitating leadership training with a supportive, inclusive approach and/or assessing students' work against required competencies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all aspects of training and assessment delivered meet regulatory requirements in accordance with the Standards for RTO's 2015
  • Contributing to the management of training facilities and resources
  • Actively contributing to the organisation's culture of continuous improvement
  • Contributing to the development, review and updating of course content and training and assessment approaches
  • Assisting with content development of accredited and non-accredited Indigenous courses

  • Able to travel interstate when required
  • Ability to engage all learner types and levels
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent level of computer literacy
  • Outstanding presentation skills and strong student focus
  • Capacity to translate learning materials into real-life examples and scenarios
  • An ability to work unsupervised, within a team as well as good time management skills
  • Commit to uphold and support compliance requirements

Personal attributes

The role of trainer is a very important one in our organisation.  The AILC is looking for people who are:

  • Self-motivated, self directed and an open communicator who is able to work with a team in multiple locations via online platforms
  • Experienced in delivering training and assessment both in online and face-to face learning environments.

 Qualifications

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • 10785NAT Certificate II in Indigenous Leadership and/or (desirable)
  • 10786NAT Certificate IV in Indigenous Leadership and/or (desirable)
  • BSB40220 Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Governance (desirable)
  • Experience in Indigenous Leadership and Governance
  • Previous training and assessment experience within an RTO
  • Hold a current driver licence
