The scholarships are open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants over 18 years and is offered nationally.
The Certificate IV and Certificate II include 14 and 8 Units of Competency respectively. Courses are delivered in three or four blocks depending on the qualification over three or four months. The training blocks cover the practical activities and theory of leadership. Courses may be delivered online, face-face or in a combination of both forms of learning.
Each block is delivered over three consecutive days either face-face or in a virtual classroom. Remaining assessment requirements are to be completed outside of the blocks, in the student's own time.
“I gained so much confidence from completing the Certificate IV in Indigenous Leadership. I have been able to put myself forward for higher management duties which I will continue to do. I am proud of myself, who I am as an Aboriginal woman and my achievements. I now have the confidence in what I do and the motivation to be that role model for my family, friends and work colleagues.”
