Leading the Way Scholarship Program

Applications have now closed

Leading the Way is a new scholarship program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

The Leading the Way program offers six scholarships covering the cost for a Certificate II or IV in Indigenous Leadership with the AILC.

The scholarship is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants over 18 years and is offered nationally.

The Certificate IV and Certificate II include 14 and 8 Units of Competency respectively. Courses are delivered in four blocks over four months.  The training blocks cover the practical activities and theory of leadership.  Courses may be delivered online, face-face or in a combination of both forms of learning.

Each block is delivered over three consecutive days either face-face or in a virtual classroom.  Remaining assessment requirements are to be completed outside of the blocks, in the student's own time.

“The AILC is so important because it brings our people together, to learn and share. I’d love to see other students, like myself, use the AILC as a launch pad for a bright and empowering future. It’s about connection, culture and a safe environment for our people to learn and strengthen”  Senator Lidia Thorpe, AILC alumnus.
