AILC Chairperson

Lesley Radloff (Kairi Nation – Maternal, Springsure and Carnarvon Gorge region, Qld; Kooma Nation – Paternal, Dirranbandi, Qld) joined the AILC Board in June 2021.  Lesley currently works as Indigenous Advocate for the National Indigenous Postvention Program, in partnership with Jacaranda Community Centre and Thirrili Ltd. 

Throughout her career, Lesley has obtained high level skills and experiences in areas such as project management, managing staff, designing and delivering training, research, policy development, submission writing, Ministerial preparations, conference coordination, strategic planning and report writing. Lesley has worked with Indigenous families across the Western Australia with community capacity building, school attendance, parent participation in education, working closely with schools on various Indigenous Education initiatives and advocacy in education and training.

Through education, training and Jacaranda Community Centre (Emergency Relief program) and other volunteer work, Lesley has worked with many vulnerable Indigenous families, who experienced trauma in their lives or are vulnerable through life’s circumstances.

Previously, Lesley has worked as Director of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts and worked with Indigenous artists and their families across Australia as well as other Indigenous groups within the Pacific Region and Canada. 

Lesley has been involved in various national and international projects throughout her career, including representing Australia on the South Pacific Commission.

Throughout her career, Lesley held senior positions in private enterprise, state government, local authorities, federal government, as well as managing her own consultancy business.

Lesley’s qualifications include Masters Arts Indigenous Sector Management (ECU); Graduate Certificate Indigenous Sector Management (ECU), Advanced Diploma Indigenous Leadership (AILC), Professional Diploma Teaching English as Second Language (AIT), Cert IV Train Small Groups, Workplace Assessment and, Certificate III Media Studies (Noongar Radio).

Over the years, Lesley has been a member of a variety of boards and committees- local, state, national and international and has been a volunteer for many organisations over the years, nationally and internationally.

Lesley enjoys catching up with family and friends, singing, travelling, attending church and long-distance walking.
