Marie Campbell Hi I'm Marie. I grew up in Darwin and a very proud Yanyula/Gardawaa on my father’s side & Jingili/mudt-puttda on my mother’s side. My parents were part of the stolen generation and were taken to the Tiwi Islands so I also got to grow up on the Tiwi Islands. I moved to Canberra (Ngunnawal Country) over 30 years ago and now live on Yuiri/Diriniani Land in Bega/Brogo area. One of my greatness passions has always been working with our people to better their lives through education, legal justices’ system, and housing. I worked in various Aboriginal organisation such as Aboriginal Hostels Limited, Aboriginal Legal Service and Katungul Medical Services. I also attended the AILC course, Certificate II Indigenous Leadership and Certificate IV in Indigenous Leadership which helped me build my leadership skills. I am very grateful for these skills as I am able to use them when I return home and need to attend meetings involving my parents land but has also empowered me to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait people.
