The AILC is holding its second Webinar Wednesday. Our first webinar was a huge success with more than 40 people joining us for a conversation with the dynamic CEO of Kalwun Development Corporation, Kieran Chilcott. Kieran has been the CEO of Kalwun for more than 13 years and credits the many strong women in his family for paving the way.

Kalwun Development Corporation CEO Kieran Chilcott

Kieran made the decision in high school that he was going to be the first person in his family to go to university. He gained a degree in teaching and strongly advocates the importance of education. One of the quotes he lives by is the famous Nelson Mandela quote "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world".

As a leader Kieran says that showing vulnerability is key along with being real and having empathy. He also says that having the courage to fail and inspiring others to walk the collective vision are traits that he strives for in his leadership role.

Our next Webinar Wednesday is being held on August 12 at 1.30pm EST. And our guest is Melissa Drummond Anderson.

Melissa is the Founder of Blaq Diamonds Women’s empowerment. Melissa is a survivor of family violence which became a catalyst for her to start her business to support other women who have survived family violence.

Blaq Diamonds primarily focusses on working to empower and inspire First Nation’s Women towards identifying their true worth and purpose. The business also aims to share information and success by creating a platform that showcases First Nation’s women’s skills, experiences and talent.  The platform gives Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in business an opportunity to promote their services.
