Youth Leadership Program We believe in the strength, resilience and talent of our young people. The AILC supports young people around the country to come together to strengthen their leadership skills and build on their capabilities. The youth program is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 16 to 25 who want to build their confidence, learn skills and tools for change and continue to grow their leadership capabilities in all areas of their life whether that be in their family, community, school or workplace. The youth program is delivered over ten months and is developed to address the needs of young people and the region they are from. The program is delivered online and face to face and there will be opportunities for participants to undertake a community project. Networking opportunities – participants get the opportunity to meet respected community members and leaders. Mentoring opportunities – access to program leader mentor Support to plan and implement a community project Identify different leadership styles Building resilience Career and professional development opportunities – becoming part of the AILC Alumni Network and portal which provides leadership opportunities and links to employment and tertiary pathways. We are currently running four youth programs around the country.
